Engineering degree from Polytech Grenoble - Computing and Embedded Systems Electronics (Informatique et Electroniques des Systèmes Embarqués - IESE) course.
Following my scientific baccalaureate, I studied Electronics, Electrical Technology and Industrial Computing (Génie Electrique et Informatique Industriel - GEII) for two years at the University Institute of Technology (Institut Universitaire de Technologie - IUT). During those two years, I became truly passionate about electronics, which led me to continue with electronics and computer science in engineering studies at Grenoble Polytech, where I specialized in Integrated Systems Conception (Conception des Systèmes Intégrés - CSI) and graduated after three years in 2018.
How did you come to join PLDA?
I joined PLDA after applying for an Internship in my Final Year entitled ‘Error Injection in PCIe Interface’ that I came across during a Job Forum hosted by Polytech Grenoble. Following this six-month internship, PLDA offered me a permanent contract to work as verification engineer.
Job Role and Tasks
In my role as a verification engineer, I’m part of a team responsible for ensuring the functionality of PLDA’s XpressRICH product complies to the PCI Express specification. Globally, my job consists of developing, improving and maintaining all the building-blocks that enable the verification of the product, including:
- Troubleshooting the origin of failed test cases, to work out if the problems are coming from design or verification. In both cases, it’s important to accurately understand what is wrong to fix the problem and to be sure it will not reappear in a slightly different form;
- Checking the compliance between new features and the PCIe specification;
- Strengthening the global verification by extending PLDA’s testsuite (i.e. improving existing test cases and creating new ones);
- Creating and developing new processes and infrastructure to verify new IPs (such as, test benches, scripts, Jenkins jobs, etc.).
Opinion of PLDA
As a friendly company, PLDA offers excellent working conditions for all employees and doesn’t hesitate to give responsibility to junior engineers, making you want to get more involved in the company. PLDA is a really good company to improve and further personal knowledge, not only on technical aspects but also on the business side, and allows for steady career evolution.
